New Prairie Habitat Program

January 30th, 2008

Prairie Habit Acres Approved

The USDA is opening a new practice in the Conservation Reserve Program to encourace the planting of prairie habitat in the Grand Prairie area. This includes Champaign County in Illinois. The program allows for 20,600 acres of new habitat to be enrolled in Illinois. Final details and signup proceedures are not available yet, but should be out soon.  This program is part of a national program to increase habitat.  We will send out additional details as we get them.  This will compliment the extremely successful field border program for increasing upland bird habitat.

We appreciate our sponsors such as Day Drainage of Gibson City that provide funding for conservation programs.
